Jill Armstrong is director of a5's Grand Rapids, Michigan office where she handles business development, marketing consulting and client relations for the Chicago-based strategic
communications firm.
During 25 years of managing strategic communications for industry-leading corporations, Jill has earned a reputation for bringing entrepreneurial acumen to companies and their customer networks. Prior to owning her own consulting business, she held a variety of
marketing, communication, and sales operation management positions with five manufacturers of furnishings and building products where she helped develop strategic solutions that were aligned with business goals and focused on bottom line results. In addition to leading the successful re-launch of the Turnstone brand of Steelcase, she consulted with several HNI Industries companies including The HON Company and Heatilator.
Jill developed and led award-winning business-to-business and consumer marketing and sales programs for Howard Miller Clock Company and Kirsch and their dealer networks. In addition to corporate marketing and communications, her expertise includes brand development; public, investor and employee relations; product and sales training; customer relation management (CRM); sales meetings and event management; and incentive and sales promotion programs.

Serving for-profits and not-for-profits from a5's Grand Rapids office, Jill consults with several environmental and sustainable clients. She has managed or co-managed nationally recognized sustainable events for Steelcase Green by Design, American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment, and Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative. Other clients include American Society of Landscape Architects-Michigan Chapter, True Textiles and Cascade Engineering.
Jill is a member of West Michigan Environmental Action Council, West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and West Michigan Chapter-US Green Building Council where she serves on the chapter and the LEED for Homes marketing committees. She has a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.
